Lanexa, VA residence. Front door panel, the most recent creation for long time client family. The bird of paradise flowers coordinate with the Art Nouveau style of the peacock panels in an adjacent area of this home. Designing for a oversized (height) door was challenging. The flowers needed to be within appropriate viewing range leaving space above and potentially below. Filling those spaces surrounding these stylized flowers are 1” beveled glass pieces, a favorite of mine for their ability to refract the light with two angled surfaces. Beveled glass pieces are varied in height to create rhythm. An exciting challenge in creating a dramatic entry to a remarkable home.
